Learning Activity in Barcelona

From 4th to the 8th of April 2022, the educational partners of Plastic Justice met for the second Learning Activity hosted by Elisava in Barcelona. Students and teachers from Vilnius Academy of Arts, University of the Arts London, Elisava, Iceland University of the Arts, Royal Academy of Arts (KABK) and ELIA – European League of Institutes of the Arts, gathered to list key topics to be addressed in the Plastic Justice Verdict policy brief.

Dr. Esther Kentin from Leiden University also joined as a guest external expert, introducing the participants to the world of environmental legislation in EU and the world. As a result of the learning activity, international student groups developed five messages for action based on their experiences and learnign from the project.

Next to learning activities, the programme included a walking tour of Barcelona and guided tour of the Ateneu de Fabricación of the Fábrica del Sol, a municipally run FabLab with a focus on sustainability, including small scale plastic recycling equipment.
